List of NIT Colleges in  India-2022 Ranking 

National Institutes of Technology (NIT) are autonomous engineering institutes that offer various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree programs in Engineering and other fields. There are a total of 31 NITs in India and admission to BTech Programmes is managed through the JoSAA counselling process.

MHRD has assigned ranking to almost all the NITs. However, NIT Delhi, NIT Mizoram (NITMZ), NIT Nagaland, NIT Andhra Pradesh and NIT Sikkim have failed to make it to the MHRD-NIRF ranking list.

Among all the 31 NITs in India, NIT Patna, established in 1886, is the oldest while NIT Goa, NIT Manipur, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, NIT Puducherry, NIT Sikkim, NIT Uttarakhand, NIT Andhra Pradesh are recently formed institutions.

NITs are the most prominent engineering colleges in India after the IITs. They offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and admission to most of the programmes is entrance based.

NITs also offer 5-year dual degree programmes in various fields. There are three NITs in India, NIT Trichy, NIT Allahabad and NIT Rourkela that also offer MBA or BBA. Few NITs also provide 5=year BArch and 4-year BSc degrees. Here is a list of popular BTech programmes offered at NITs:
