Anil and the thief came across each other in a wrestling match ongoing on a roadside somewhere. The thief goes towards Anil and sparks up a conversation since he did not rob anyone in a recent couple of days. Also, he approaches Anil since he felt Anil be simple and innocent to be robbed.

At the commencement of the conversation, Anil asks the kid his name where he replies that he is Hari Singh. Well, this was obviously not his actual name since he has to change the name in order to escape his previous employers and the police.

So, after some time, when Anil was about to leave, the thief again asked for the employment opportunity to which Anil replied that he won’t be able to pay. However, Anil agreed to pay him for food if the thief agrees to cook the meal.

To stick with Anil, Hari convinced Anil with the lie that he can cook, however it was soon found out when he cooked the dinner that very night. And Anil was forced to feed the whole meal to the street cat.

Thus Anil politely asked Hari to leave however Hari somehow started convincing Anil to keep him. He even smiled at Anil to which Anil could not help but started laughing.

So, Anil ultimately agreed to keep Hari and also agreed to teach Hari cooking, write full sentences, and add numbers. Hari became grateful since he realized once he learns reading and writing he can go to the tremendous limit of robbing.

So, Hari eventually started liking to work for Anil because Anil offered him tea in the morning then Hari usually took off to buy the groceries for the day. Hari also stole one rupee each day from the money which Anil gave him to buy groceries. This was however known to Anil but he never mentioned the fact to Hari.

Anil earned money in an irregular manner. And the days he earned he would go out to celebrate it with friends. One night Anil returned home with a bundle of notes and informed Hari that he sold a book to a publisher and he kept the money under the mattress of his bed.

Hari came to a realization that he is been working for Anil for one month now and he did not steal anything yet, apart from the one rupee from everyday grocery shopping. Additionally, Anil trusted him and there were a huge number of instances since Hari had the key to the room. However, he was shocked to find Anil to be trusting him. And Hari in his entire life never met anyone like Anil.

This trust issue somehow made Hari do not rob Anil. Additionally being careless with the act of responsibility, Hari thought that Anil would never notice that he has been robbed and this feeling somehow took out all the fun of robbing from Hari.

But Hari somehow came to conclude that he would steal the money from Anil otherwise Anil would spend the money on his friends. Moreover, Hari did not get paid for the month’s work he did for Anil. So, Hari woke up that night and slowly crawled in where Anil kept the money.

He then steals the money decides to leave the state by Lucknow Express which was about to depart by 10.30 at night. The moment he reached the station, the train slowly started leaving the platform. He counted the money it was 600 rupees with 50 rupees notes.

This amount of money was enough to gift a lavish lifestyle for Hari for around 2-3 weeks. But he did not get up on the train. And then he suddenly realized that he has no roof over him for the night.

The only person he knew so well was Anil but he robbed him. He sat upon a bench by the park near the clock tower and then it started to rain. He realized that the notes are getting wet.

He also realized that by learning the ways of reading and writing he is sure to get an honest medium of income in the future which would ultimately help him earn certainly a lot more than this few hundred. So he left for Anil’s home.

Once he reached home, he kept the money at the place where it was supposed to be. The next morning he woke up a bit late and Anil already made him tea. Anil gave rupees 50 to Hari and said that he would get a regular salary from this month onwards.

The moment he took the money he realized that it was the wet money from last night. Hari also released that Anil might know what he did last night, however, there was no sign of guilt, remorse, or sadness on his face. Hari smiled in the most alluring way since he saved himself from the wrong path he was about to take the last night.
