Disability Etiquettes are also explained in this chapter along with the physical activities that will be advantageous for children with special needs. The main aim is to provide as many physical activities facility for special children.
Chapter 5 – Children & Women in Sports
Exercise and physical activate are meant for everybody and people of different ages can also perform those activities. It serves the purpose of improving motor development and other factors that is affecting it. This chapter does provide exercise guidelines to develop a better growth rate and improve the routine of those people who follow them.
The chapter even includes the method to overcome some of the common postural deformities like knock knee, flat foot, round shoulders, Lordosis, Kyphosis, bow legs, and scoliosis.

Apart from this, there is an important phase which is the Female Athletes Triad. This is a medication condition in which is observed in physically active female athletes that involve 3 major components ie, eating disorder, Oestoperosis, Amenoria.
Chapter 6 – Test & Measurement in sports
There are certain rules and regulation that a student should follow to play a game and here are some of those important points that need to be considered while playing those sports:
- Motor Fitness Test – For running and exercise test there is a certain standard that an athlete should pass to qualify the fitness level like 50m Standing Start, 600m Run/Walk, Sit & Reach, Partial Curl Up, Push Ups (Boys), Modified Push-Ups (Girls), Standing Broad Jump, Agility – 4×10 M Shuttle Run.
- General Motor Fitness – Barrow three-item general motor ability (Standing Broad Jump, Zig Zag Run, Medicine Ball Put – For Boys: 03 Kg & For Girls: 01 Kg)
- Measurement of Cardio-Vascular Fitness – There are some of the tests that need to be passed before qualifying for any sport and some of them are Harvard Step Test and Rockport Test
- Computation of Fitness Index: (Duration of the Exercise in Seconds x 100)/(5.5 x Pulse count of 1-1.5 Min after Exercise)
- Rikli & Jones – This is one of the fitness tests that apply for Senior Citizen and other test details are as shown below. Other information for the test is mentioned in the chapter that can be referred to by the students.
- Chair Stand Test for lower body strength
- Arm Curl Test for upper body strength
- Chair Sit & Reach Test for lower body flexibility
- Back Scratch Test for upper body flexibility
