Exam Pattern for CBSE Class 9 Exam

These exams are conducted in two ways. The first one is Summative Assessment-I and another one is Summative Assessment-II. SA-I are conducted in between April and September and SA-II are conducted in the month of October and March. However, these question papers are based according to the blueprints. Let’s look over the details of how question paper will appear.

1. Science- Science question paper appears in two sections A and B. Section A is of 75 Marks and Section B is of 15 marks.
2. Mathematics- This paper has 4 sections. Section A is of 4 marks. Section B is of 12 marks. Section C is 40 marks. Section D is of 10 marks.
3. Hindi- This paper consists of 4 sections. Section A is 20 marks. Section B is 15 marks. Section C is 30 marks. Section D is 25 marks.
4. Social Science- This paper consists of 4 sections. Section A is of 8 marks. Section B is of 36 marks. Section C of 40 marks. Section D is of 6 marks which consist of a map.
5. English- this paper consists of 3 sections. Section A is of 20 marks which have the Reading part. Section B is of 25 marks which have Writing and Grammar part. Section C is of Literature and Long reading questions.
6. These examinations are of 3-3.5 hours duration.

The syllabus for CBSE Class 9 is very impressive. As the students will learn about various new concepts which are interesting.

1.  In this current year, 2020-2021 due to pandemic the syllabus has been reduced by 30%.
2. This is a great benefit for the students. But the Internal Assessment pattern has been kept the same by the CBSE.
3. Students are required to give their internal assessments accordingly. The final examination will be 80 marks and 20 marks out of 100 will be for internal assessments.
4. If you score good marks in internals it will be beneficial for you to score good marks in theory.
5. However, the CBSE has not removed important topics in order to reduce the syllabus by 30%.

These are generally known as PSAs. CBSE conducts PSA which will enhance a student’s verbal, communication, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, creative thinking, and decision marking skills. These PSA are important for every student as marks are also be provided for them.

OTB Assessments

OTB Assessments are called Open Text Based Assessments. This includes questions regarding value-based questions. Also, they have a total weightage of 10 marks which is dedicated to this Assessment. As students must give these exams in order to judge their own value-based ideas.
