You that apply for the CSIR exam must start preparation according to the prescribed CSIR NET Earth Science exam pattern 2022. According to the exam scheme, the paper is divided into three sections which are Part A, Part B, and Part C.

- Part A is common for all subjects. In this section, only MCQ Type questions will be asked on the basis of the skills in General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, and Research Aptitude.
- Part B includes subject-related conventional MCQs with less difficulty level.
- Part C includes higher value subject related questions that will test you’ scientific knowledge.
CSIR NET Earth Science exam pattern Important Points
- You need to answer maximum of 15, 35, and 25 questions out of 20, 50, and 80 questions in Part-A, Part-B and Part-C respectively.
- Every question contains 4 alternatives and you need to mark the best alternative as their answer.
- Questions in Part-A and Part-B carry 2 marks each and negative marking of 0.5 for the wrong answer.
- Part-C contains questions of 4 marks each and 1.32 marks deducted for an incorrect answer.
CSIR NET Earth Science Marking scheme: Each question in Part A and B carries two marks weightage. However, each question in Part C carries four marks weightage. There is negative marking of 0.5 marks for every wrong answer in Part A and B. In Part C, there is negative marking of 1.32 marks for each incorrect answer.
