The CUET is known as the common University entrance test. This is an all-India examination or entrance test which is conducted and organized by the National Testing Agency in order to admit students who are seeking admission into various undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate courses, diplomas, and several Research programs among the 45 central Universities of India

It was started in the year 2021 and tests different skills and aptitudes of students. The examination is divided into four parts: two language proficiency tests, a general examination for general aptitude, and a specific domain subject out of the given 27 subjects in the list. The exam is an analysis of the student’s capabilities and the form is issued in the first week of April every year.

CUET Age Limit

As per the latest notification for the CUET (UG)2023, the applicants will have no age restriction or age limit. But before appearing for the examination it is important for the students to familiarize themselves with the eligibility requirements of the CUET examination. Candidates who do not meet the required criteria will not be able to sit for the CUET and can be outrightly rejected from the selection process at any given moment if incorrect details or any kind of misleading information is provided by them.

Those who want to appear for the exam must have passed the 12-level Examination. Each University has its own Criterion for Eligibility. Hence, students seeking admission to a particular college should check it prior to knowing if they are eligible for the process. It is mandatory for the candidate to fulfill the criteria as there is no age limit to appear for CUET 2023

CUET Nationality

With regards to nationality, one of the following requirements should be met by the applicant

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A refugee of Tibet who arrived in India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement in India
  • Migrated to India permanently from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries like Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam

CUET Educational Qualification

With regards to Qualifications, the candidates must have passed class 10+2 equivalent or 10+3 diploma approved by the state board of technical education as per the CUCET eligibility criteria.

The candidates must have done 10+2 or equivalent in any stream from a recognized Board/University with not less than 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Integrated B.Sc B.Ed (Mathematics)

  • The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream from a recognized Board/University with not less than 60% marks for General category, 55% marks for OBC-NCL category, and 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
  • Also must not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st July of the current year
  • Candidates must have Mathematics/Statistics, Physics, and Chemistry in 10+2.

Integrated B.Sc B.Ed

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates

Integrated B.Sc (Hons.) M.Sc/Integrated M.Sc in Chemistry

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with Chemistry from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Integrated B.Sc. M.Sc/Integrated M.Sc in Biotechnology

Minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent on grading scale of the Board at 10+2 level with Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biochemistry. 5% relaxation to OBC/SC/ST/PWD candidates

Integrated M.Sc in Biochemistry/B.Voc in Biomedical Sciences

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with Biology from a recognized Board/University with the minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with Chemistry from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 45% marks for General/OBC and 40% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
 
Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory in 10+2 along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology and Electronics

Integrated M.Sc in Economics

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent with English and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 65% marks for General/OBC and 60% marks for SC/ST candidates.

B.Voc

The candidate must have passed 10+2 pass from a recognized board with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate

B.Sc in Textiles

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 60% marks for General/OBC and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.

B.A in Social Science

The candidate must have done 10+2 in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories.

B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering

The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.

CUET Additional Fee

No extra charges are applicable for online/ debit/ credit card payments. Two options for paying your CUET 2023 application fee are online (credit/debit card/Net Banking) or offline (SBI Challan). Note that you must pay an additional charge of Rs. 50 if you opt for offline payment as a bank commission.

CUET Reservation Policy

Candidates should score a minimum of 50% marks in their +2 examination in the General category and 45% for SC/ST candidates. They should have taken up subjects in +2 depending on their chosen course.

CUET examination was introduced as a measure to counter the menace of extremely high cut-offs for securing admissions in well-reputed universities in India.
