GATE Electrical Engineering 2022:GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering exam will be conducted on February 5, 2022, in the afternoon session i.e. from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. All students must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam time.

GATE Electrical Engineering 2022 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022, you must meet the requirements for a slew of categories, such as age and education. So, these are the criteria that you must meet to be eligible to apply for the GATE EE entrance exam.

Age

There is no age limit to apply for the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022.

Nationality

Candidates from both India and those who reside outside are eligible to apply for the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022..

Educational Qualification

To apply for the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022, you must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering in any of the disciplines. Also, those candidates pursuing Engineering, and who are currently in the third or higher years can apply for the exam.

If you have a bachelor’s degree from disciplines like Science and Engineering and are currently pursuing a postgraduate program, then too, you can apply for the GATE EE exam.

Note that candidates who are pursuing an integrated Master of Technology Program can opt for an integrated Master’s Degree program or a Dual Degree Program in Engineering or Technology.

Similarly, those candidates pursuing an integrated MSc program, or a B.S. degree from any of the recognized universities, can also apply for a five-year integrated MSc or BS-MS dual degree program.

For any other undergraduate course, such as commerce or arts, you can apply for a normal three-year master’s Program in that respective field.

Documents Required

To apply for the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022, you must submit a set of supporting documents by uploading their scanned copies when you fill the application form. The documents include:

A Passport-Size Photograph and Signature

As with most other competitive exams, the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022 also requires a scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph along with your signature. Note that the picture must match with how you currently appear.

Also, both the files must be in the JPEG format and must have dimensions of 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm. Anything more than or less than that won’t be acceptable.

Documents

You must also upload a scanned copy of your degree certificate or other documents that proves you meet the educational qualifications required for the exam.

Suppose you are a candidate from any of the backward classes or have any disability that doesn’t allow you to write the exam conventionally. In that case, you must submit a supporting document for the same, such as a Caste or PwD certificate. You can download such certificates from the official website.

Steps to fill GATE Electrical Engineering 2022 Application form

The GATE EE Registration will be only accepted online on the GOAPS official website. The direct link to apply online for GATE EE 2022 was made available to you when it was released by the participating institute.

Registration

Candidates were required to initially register for the GATE 2022 before filling up the application form. In the application form, candidates have to enter details like name, country of residence, mobile number, and valid email id. The candidates also were asked to make a profile in the portal for further login. An enrolment number is generated if the candidate has successfully registered.

Filling the Form

The GATE 2022 application form had sections like – personal details, contact details, and academic details. Candidates were expected to enter the details in the essential fields of each section, choose the paper i. e. EE in this case, and selects three exam centers which the candidate is comfortable in appearing.

Uploading Photograph

Scanned images of photograph, category certificate, and signature of the candidate had to be uploaded as per the prescribed format. Files must be minimum of 50kB and a maximum of 200kB.

The application fee varied on the category and gender of the candidates. The application fee for general male candidates is Rs 1500 and Rs 750 for female and reserved category candidates. The application fee could be paid online via net banking, debit, or credit cards.
