IBPS Clerk Selection Process 2021 | Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary Examination is the first phase or round of the IBPS Clerk Selection Process or for any banking exam. The stage relates to an online examination conducted by IBPS to judge applicants on a general basis based on their knowledge and skills.

The exam is an objective test with a duration of one hour. The main subjects of this examination include English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.

The second phase of the selection process is the IBPS Mains Exam. Candidates who have passed the preliminary limit will be allowed to obtain their IBPS Clerk 2021 Admit Card. As the second stage of the selection process, the Mains exam helps refine the search for the best candidates for various administrative positions.

Like the preliminaries, the main ones will also be held online, but with a duration of 2 hours and 40 minutes (160 minutes). However, the exam includes topics such as Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with special reference to banking), and Computer literacy.

IBPS Clerk Selection Process | Finals 2021

The final stage is the interview phase, also known as the final stage of the selection process. Candidates who successfully reach this stage will face a round of interviews conducted by participating organizations from the IBPS secretary.

You should be aware that grades obtained in Phase I of the Preliminary Exam will not be added for the selection and only grades obtained in Phase II of the Main Exam will be added to Phase III of the interview (if the interview is conducted).

It will be delivered to prepare the final list of merits. The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the test (main exam) and interview (if an interview is done).

• Candidates who pass the Main examination will be placed in descending order as per their respective categories and marks.
• On the basis of the number of vacancies, only a certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of a maximum of 3 candidates for each vacancy.
• Candidates will have to score minimum percentage marks (to be decided by the bank) in the interview to be considered for final selection.
• 5% relaxation for reserved (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS) category will be available thereon.
• Interview call letters will be uploaded on the Bank’s website after the announcement of the result of the online test.

• No hard copy of the interview call letter will be sent by post.
