Candidates who are planning to take the examination must check the detailed eligibility norms for the CA Foundation examination that has been elaborated below.
- The students who have cleared 12th or going to appear for the 12th exam which is conducted by the Central or State Board of Education are eligible for CA Foundation.
- The students who want to apply for the CA Foundation May session need to register by December 31 and for the CA Foundation November session by June 30.
- Once the students are done with the registration process, they need to go through the four months study period before appearing for the CA Foundation examination.
- The students only register for the CA course if they going to appear for the Class 12 examination. However, the students can only apply and appear for the CA Foundation examination if they qualify for the Class 12 exam or equivalent exam.

- The students who have registered for the previous Intermediate exam as per syllabus under paragraph 2 or 2A of Schedule B or Professional Education (Course-II) or Professional Competence Course and converted into Intermediate (IPC) Course/ Accounting Technician Course (ATC) are eligible for CA intermediate exam.
- The students who have completed graduation or post-graduation in any stream from a recognized institute of India are eligible for CA intermediate exam.

- The students who have cleared the CA Intermediate exam or professional education examination such as PCC or IPCC are eligible to apply for the CA Final examination.
- The students need to complete 3 years or 3½ years of article training as of the date of filling the form.
- The students of the PE-II stream and the students who have converted the PE-II stream to IPCC need to serve the last twelve months of articled training.
- The students of the PCC stream need to serve the last six months of articled training.
- The students of Intermediate need to serve the last six months of training including excess leave if any, and due to complete 3 years on or before 30 April of the examination year.
- The students who have converted from PE-II to PCC and those who have converted from PE-II to PCC & then to IPCC need to serve the last twelve months of training on or before 31st October of the examination year.
