To get recruited for the post of Cadre III Assistant, a candidate must clear all the 3 stages of the NIACL Assistant Selection Process.
Stage 1 – Prelims
- The first phase of the selection process.
- The paper will be in both Hindi & English language, except the English language section.
- There will be sectional cut-offs, so the candidate has to clear every section.

Stage 3 – Regional language Test
- Candidates should be proficient in their State/UT Regional language.
- Should know how to read, write and speak in their regional language.
Before the final selection, a regional test is conducted. Candidates need to clear the exam.
NIACL Assistant Selection Process – Eligibility Criteria

Age limit
- Minimum age – 21 years.
- Maximum age – 30 years.
- Only those can apply who are born not earlier than July 1st 1989 and not later than June 30th 1998, both days are included.

Nationality
A candidate applying for the NIACL Assistant recruitment 2021 must fulfil either of these conditions:
- He/she must be an Indian citizen.
- He/she must be a subject of Nepal.
- He/she must be a subject of Bhutan.
- The candidate must be a Tibetan refugee before Jan 1st 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Must be of Indian origin, migrated from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, the countries of East Africa and The United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia and Vietnam. He/ she must have an intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates falling under the categories (2), (3), (4) & (5), must have a certificate of eligibility, issued by the Government of India.
