RS Aggarwal Solutions Class 7 Maths Chapter 15 Ex 15.3 – Overview

Important Terms

  • Exterior Angle –  Let us consider one triangle having the corner sides named as ABC.

Here, if we extend the ‘BC’ side for the triangle considered above ABC, to produce the ray, say, BY, in this case, the ∠ACY will say to be the exterior angle for the triangle ABC at point C.

  • Interior angle – The interior angle is the angle that is formed by the third line intersecting in between the parallel lines. For example, in the case of the polygon, the angle formed within it with the help of the two adjacent sides can be called the interior angle.

Interior and Exterior Angles

  • The Interior angles are simply the angles made in the inside part of any given triangle.
  • The exterior angle is the angle made in the outside part of any given triangle which is formed by extending one of its sides.
  • Every triangle consists of three interior angles and six exterior angles.

Important Theorem

The measure of the exterior angles will always be equivalent to the sum of the two interior opposite angles. We can also use this thing in the case of polygons. They are the perfect example that fits into the above category of the Interior Adjacent Angle. Taking my two interior angels which are sharing the common side are said to be the Adjacent Interior Angle for the polygon. We can also just call it the Adjacent angles.

The four angles are said to be created whenever the two straight lines are in the intersection with each other. Here, we often call this particular point of intersection the vertex for each angle defined. In case the two angels are having a common vertex, and if they share the common side, they’ve said to be the adjacent sides.  The two intersecting lines will always produce the adjacent angles which are said to be supplementary. It means that the total sum of their measures will be equivalent to degrees.
