RS Aggarwal Solutions Class 7 Maths Chapter 20 Ex 20.2 – Overview

The second exercise of the 20th chapter consists of 8 questions in total. All of these questions are based on the calculation of the area in between the outward and the inward fence of the rectangular field.

Basic Formulae

  1. The Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( L + B ) units
  2. The Length of Rectangle = (P / 2) – w units
  3. The Width (w) of Rectangle = (P / 2) – L units
  4. The Diagonal of Rectangle = √( L2 + W2 ) units
  5. The Area of Rectangle = L x w sq.units
  6. The Length of Rectangle = A / w units
  7. The Width of Rectangle = A / L units
  8. The Area of the Square, S = S²
  9. The Area of the circle, C = πr²
  10. The Area of parallelogram = base × height
  11. The Area of rhombus = base × height
  12. The Area of trapezium = 1 / 2 ( The total sum of the parallel sides ) × ( The exact perpendicular distance between these two parallel sides )
Here,
L – Length of the Rectangle
w – Width of the Rectangle
A – Area of the Rectangle
R – Radius of the circle

Perimeter

A perimeter is the total boundary of the two-dimensional shape. he units of the perimeter are, cm, m, etc.

Formulae For Perimeter

1. Perimeter of Rectangle – The rectangle consists of two sides that are parallel and equal to each other. And it consists of all the angles equivalent to 90 degrees.
Here,
P = L + B + B + L
P = 2L + 2B = 2 ( L + B )

2. Perimeter of Square – The rectangle having each of its sides as equivalent to each other is said to be a square. And, the perimeter of a square, P  is equal to the  4 × Side.
P = 4 × Side

3. The Perimeter of a Triangle, denoted by P = ( x + y + z ). Here, we have devoted the symbols x, y, and z as the three sides of the triangle.

4. Perimeter of Parallelogram – 2 ( The sum of all the sides adjacent to each other )

5. Perimeter of Rhombus = 4 × side
