Step I: SBI Clerk Selection Process for Prelims 2021
The SBI Clerk Recruiting is currently in its first step. The date of the SBI Clerk Prelims test has not yet been announced. After a month passed after the preliminary test, the main exam will be held.

- The SBI Clerk Prelims Exam is a 100-point online objective test with a 60-minute time limit.
- There will be a total of 100 questions to be answered.
- There is a Sectional Time Limit. Each part of the test, such as Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and English Language, will have its own 20-minute time limit.
- In the Prelims Exam (objective test), there is no Sectional Cutoff. There are no minimum qualification points, or cutoffs, in the prelims phase of the SBI Clerk Selection Process 2021.

Shortlisting Procedure for SBI Clerk Main 2021
- Candidates for the Mains Test will be selected from a selection of all those who took the Preliminary examination.
- SBI will shortlist those candidates for SBI Clerk Mains who will successfully reach SBI Clerk Cut-off marks.
- Candidates will be chosen for the next step, the Mains, in approximately 10 times the amount of vacancies in each division.
- The marks earned in the preliminary exam would not be included in any way during the selection process.
Step 2: SBI Clerk Selection Process for Mains 2021
The most critical stage of SBI Clerk Recruitment 2021 is SBI Mains. For the purpose of preparing the final merit list, the total marks earned in the SBI Clerk Mains Exam will be taken into account.
On the basis of a candidate’s success in the Mains Test, a preliminary selection will be made.
- There is no minimum marks bar to qualify (Sectional Cutoff) for each segment of the Mains Review.
- For the SBI Clerk Mains Exam, there is a provision of an overall cutoff. Candidates must hit a minimum percentage point in the aggregate.
- SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS applicants will receive a 5% relaxation on their overall composite marks.
Please note that the SBI Mains will contain an additional component called the General Financial Awareness section.

Shortlisting Procedure for SBI Clerk Main 2021
- There will be no further interview process for the SBI Clerk Post, so applicants will be chosen based on their performance in the Mains Examination.
- For the purpose of preparing the final merit list, the total marks earned in the SBI Clerk Mains Exam will be taken into account. On the basis of a candidate’s success in the Mains Examination, a preliminary selection will be made.
- There are no minimum qualification points (Sectional Cutoff) for each segment of the Mains Exam. For the SBI Clerk Mains Exam, there is an overall cutoff.
- Candidates must achieve a minimum percentage point in the aggregate. SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS applicants will receive a 5% relaxation on their overall composite mark.
Note: Only those candidates who have successfully completed the Mains examination can check the SBI Clerk Result through their official website.
Step 3: SBI Clerk Selection Process (Language Test)
Candidates who pass the SBI Clerk Mains Exam will be eligible for the next stage of the recruitment process, which is the Local Language Test.
- Candidates who can show proof of having studied the opted local language in 10th or 12th grade do not need to take the Language Test.
- A specific local language test will be conducted for other successful candidates who do not have such a certificate. After provisional selection, but before the joining process, this test will be administered.
- This language test will be used to assess candidates’ ability to speak, read, and write in the chosen local language.
- Candidates who are not deemed to be fluent in the preferred local language will be excluded and will not be considered for further consideration.
Provisional Selection for SBI Clerk 2021
The final selection of an applicant will be based on the following three criteria:
- The marks obtained in the SBI Clerk Mains Exam.
- Following the verification of the candidate’s eligibility for the position and the information provided in the online SBI Clerk application.
- Scores in a language test.
- The merit list will be finalized by category and by state. Candidates would be allocated to the state for which they applied. In the first five years of service, applicants would not be eligible for inter/intra-state transfers.
- Post which the selection committee will release the merit list or the list of shortlisted candidates.
SBI Clerk Probation
Upon selection, the candidates will be made Junior Associates. Candidates for the position of Junior Associates/Clerk who are ultimately chosen will be required to complete a 6-month probationary term.
- During this time, junior associates must complete 15 recommended e-lessons in order to be confirmed as SBI employees.
- The probation term will be extended until the expiration time if 15 recommended e-lessons are not completed.
- The success of recently appointed Junior associates will also be assessed by the completion of the Probation period.
Client communications and associated processes are the responsibility of the SBI Clerk (Junior Associates). Cashiers, depositors, and other positions that make up the face of an SBI Bank branch are designated as clerks.
