Sensitivity Coefficient Formulas

Sensitivity coefficient with respect to rate coefficients

In flame calculations:

sens 1

where F is a target value.
is computed by the Chemkin code.

For non-flame calculations we use two-side finite-difference formula:

sens 2

Sensitivity coefficient with respect to heats of formation

In flame calculations:

sens 3

where sens 5 is computed by the Chemkin code.

For non-flame calculations:

sens 4

The following temperatures were used in the calculations of sensitivity coefficient with respect to heats of formation:

  • For shock tube and reactor experiments – initial temperature
  • For low pressure flame experiments (N chemistry) – temperature at the peak of the CH or CN concentration
  • For flame speeds – 1000 K

For all calculations sens 6 = 1000 cal.
