Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs shall be relaxed by five years subject to the condition that on the closing date for receipt of applications the continuous service rendered in the Armed Forces by an Ex-Serviceman is not less than six months after attestation.

Persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989

2) UPSC EPFO Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

A candidate applying for the UPSC EPFO must fulfill either of these conditions:

  1. He/she must be an Indian citizen.
  2. He/she must be a subject of Nepal.
  3. He/she must be a subject of Bhutan.
  4. The candidate must be a Tibetan refugee before Jan 1st, 1962, to permanently settle in India.
  5. Must be of Indian origin, migrated from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, the countries of East Africa, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, and Vietnam. He/ she must have an intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates falling under the categories (2), (3), (4) & (5), must have a certificate of eligibility, issued by the Government of India. 

3) UPSC EPFO Eligibility Criteria: Educational qualification

There are 2 levels of educational qualifications, i.e., the essential educational qualification and desirable educational qualification.

  1. Essential educational qualification
  • In case of candidates are well qualified, qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the competent Authority/ Union Public Service Commission.
  • If at any stage of selection, the competent Authority/ Union Public Service Commission believes that a sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them, then the Qualifications(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Competent Authority/ Union Public Service Commission when candidates belong to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
  1. Desirable educational qualification
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law, or have an Integrated five years Degree in Law.
  • Candidates can also have a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration or a Postgraduate diploma in any of the following fields:
  • Management
  • Company Secretary
  • Chartered accountants
  • Cost & Management Accountant
  • Candidates also must have experience of 2 years in Administration/ Accounts/ Legal Matters in any government or Listed – Private Organisation.
