The Air Force Common Admission Test or AFCAT is conducted by the IAF to select Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical).

AFCAT is a gateway for both male and female candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force for both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and in Ground Duties.

Candidates are selected based on their performance in the online exam and Air Force Selection Board interview.

Candidates opting for Technical Ground Duty branches are required to appear in both AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test.

AFCAT exam is conducted for granting the following two types of commissions: 1. Permanent Commission (PC) for Men 2.Short Service Commission (SSC) for Men & Women

The duration of the test is two hours and carries 300 marks. The EKT exam, comprises questions from Engineering. The duration of the test is 45 minutes. carries 150 marks.

The result is announced online. Candidates need to login with the required credentials to check the result. Based on the result of the online test, candidates are selected for the AFSB test.

The AFSB interview is conducted in 3 stages. Stage I comprise the Officer Intelligence Rating Test.. Stage II comprises Psychological test. Stage III will be conducted for Flying Branch candidates.
